Sin Lam Memorial Trust Fund

I am in the process of establishing the "Sin Lam Children's Educational Trust", a restricted, irrevocable trust for the purpose of Wendy and Andy's college education and any emergency medical needs. I'm in the process of creating a subaccount with Associated Trust Company whereby they will be the trustee, but because they're also administering the existing general purpose trust below, administration costs are minimized. We should have the account set up in the next week or so.

If you are interested in a trust fund that can be used for day-to-day expenses, Steve Phalen has created one to provide for Wendy and Andy's health, support, maintenance and education. Checks are to be made payable to "Andrew and Wendy Trattner Trust" and to be mailed to:

Associated Trust Company
Attn: Erika Mielke
P.O. Box 2030
Milwaukee, WI 53201-2030

The stated guide to trustee distributions in this "Andrew and Wendy Trattner Trust" is as follows:
"The purpose of this Trust is to help relieve the financial burden placed on the person or persons who care for the Trattner Children regardless of the individual resources of the person or persons. It is the Donor's intention that the person or persons who care for the Trattner Children shall be assisted financially with the expenses incurred by them as a direct or indirect result of their providing such care. The Donor direct the Trustee to make such distributions as the Trustee considers reasonable in furtherance of this intention, including assisting financially with the following expenses which are intended for illustration and not limitation: food, clothing, education, medical care, orthodontia services, psychiatric or psychological services, extracurricular activities such as music lessons and sports, and expenses related to shelter such as assisting with the purchase of housing or additions to existing housing to accommodate the Trattner Children. The Trustee may consult with the Donor regarding the purpose for making distributions but the ultimate decisions regarding whether to make distributions shall be made by the Trustee."
As you can see, this "Andrew and Wendy Trattner Trust" permits the use of the funds for day-to-day needs. If that is of interest to you, please give generously. If you are interested in a more restricted, long-term use of funds, stay tuned for more information to follow in the next few days.

Capital Returns, Sin's employer, is currently establishing an independent trust account for the benefit of Wendy and Andy's education. As soon as we have more information, we will update this site accordingly.
